Braziliant! is delivered in collaboration with The ¡VAMOS! Festival; a biennial celebration of all that's wild and wonderful in the world of Latin and Lusophone (spanish and portuguese speaking) cultures and is held in the North East of England. Returning in July 2008 it presents 10 action-packed days of vibrant visual arts, film, world-class dance and music performance and mouthwatering food events. Braziliant! is the only celebration of festival of Brazilian music, arts and culture in the North East. A unique celebration based within the non-tropical surroundings of the Tees Valley. Think sunshine soaked sambas, hot bossa’s, free flowing caipirihnas, capoeira and carnival. A unique fiesta of South American flavours right on your doorstep in Middlesbrough.

Braziliant! is co-ordinated and conceptualised by Robert Page (Tubbyphunk) in association with Middlesbrough Council.

The festival takes place on the summer evening of Thursday 17th July 2008 from 6.30pm - 10:30pm in the grounds of MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art) and Music will be supplied by The unofficial ambassador to all things Brazilian DJ Cliffy , who's long running Batmacumba club night in London's prestigious ICA has become an internationally recognised institution to all things Brazilian. Cliffy is joined by long-term collaborator and Latin inspired studio wizard Spiritual South, who's onfectious productions are highly regarded and a permanent fixture in the record boxes of the worlds finest dj's, he's also resident at London's highly desible Guanabara; a second home to many Brazilians in the capital. with visuals supplied by long serving Braziliant! Collaborator VJ Caci. Braziliant will also feature an exclusive preview of Dj Cliffy’s new DVD highlighting the good work of NGO’s in Salvador, Brazil. Café Prego will host a Brazilian inspired al fresco cook-off (BBQ)

The event will be opened by a performance by this year's 'Boro Buzz' participants - providing a lively soundtrack of 'live Samba drumming & Capoiera to a specially composed soundtrack with youth participants from the aforementioned workshops.
